Back from Rome & Sorrento

Thu Jul 9, 2009, 3:58 AM
I completely forgot to announce here that I'll be away for two weeks.
Anyways, yesterday I returned from the school trip to Rome and Sorrento/Pompeii
It was a trip with the latin courses and we had a strong culture programe. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the time there with all my friends.
Rome is an impressive city and I've never seen so much highlights in so few time.
We also visited the ruins of Pompeii, Paestum and Herculaneum and went to Ostia, the antique harbour of Rome, Tivoli and the small island of Capri.

Now we have practically seven weeks vacation from school! Finally!
Spain is booked and Amsterdam planned.

Of course I've been pretty inactive those days.
Thanks a lot for every support I got during that time.
It's much appreciated!

Furthermore my subscription has expired. I'm not sure when I'll reactivate it...

I'll submit some new work later!
Hope you're allright.

UPDATE: One of my photos [link] has just been published in the german "National Geographic" magazine under the category "Your Picture". It's only a small category where the editors pick out the best four photos sent in by their readers, but I feel quite flattered! Wow!
So everyone, who has got the german "National Geographic" can see my photo in there now!

I feel quite uninspired photographically at the moment.
I want to do something different now since I've currently no access to beautiful landscapes. We'll see what comes into my mind.
I'm thinking of some architectural things but I want to have kind of a little concept to do something that sticks together.
Otherwise I'm quite busy with school.

Thanks a lot to all the new watchers!

Back & Website building & Features

I returned from my trip to Andalucia, Spain one week ago yet. Though didn't find time to make a journal until now. I really enjoyed myself there. I met so much of my friends and knew lots of new people.
The first days back, I even felt a bit displaced here. Secondary effects of quick adaption...haha
Thanks for the great support during my abscence!

I'm quite inactive concerning photography the last months.
For being passionate about landscape photography I tend to be quite inactive when not being on holidays and in nice landscapes.
Actually a city offers so much motives to photograph. I'm currently trying to get myself motivated to explore the city a little bit and look for good places for photography.

I'm currently trying to get a bit into website building. I don't want to learn programing though, so I'm looking for methods to create a website without any programing knowledge. I threw a view on Macromedia Flash MX as they say you don't need any programing knowledge. I don't know if it's possible to build an entire website with it. I thought of a quite simple website not anything complicated. I don't want to spend too much time on it.

Those who have got experiences with it, I would be very thankful for any advice. Thank you!

Away & Features

News

I'll be away for the next 10 days from tomorrow on. I'll stay again in Andalucia, Spain with my guest family. It's 'Semana Santa' and there will be a huge amount of easter processions going on. I'm sure I'll be enjoying it as I did last year.
This will not be a photo trip. I'll not be getting around to taking photographs there so my camera will stay at home.

Thus I won't be able to respond on anything these days.
Thanks for any support in advance!
Speak you soon.

Have a nice week!

Selling Artwork & Features

News

I'm again and again looking for a good place to sell some of my work.
I only know the basic things to which you have to pay attention. What should I bare in mind when selling my work?
I recently checked out iStock. I would not sell every work there but only a certain selection of pieces that could be interesting for stock use. Has anyone experience with it? I think one can make some peanuts of it.
If anyone also knows pages more referred to as art selling pages I would be thankful to get a hint.
I know some pages like "The Untapped Source" [link] but until now I've never sold anything there. Maybe that's due to the quality of my photographs, maybe due to having bare reputation. Whatever...
What are your experiences with online art selling pages?
How about deviantArt??
Would you recommend online selling at all or not?
I would be very thankful for any advise concerning selling artwork!
