Wooden Cross by PictureElement Wooden Cross by PictureElement
Villnöss/Funes Valley, Dolomites, Alps, Italy

Again this wonderful location, an alpine meadow high above the valley with a stunning view onto this mountain range called "Geislerspitzen/Le Odle".
The warm evening light finally appeared after quite some time waiting.

This is a panorama of three verticals.

You can look and look and look, and understand, that this is pure nature, what we need. Great Job!

Beautiful shot :)

Maybe it's just me, but because of the line of the mountains it makes it feel like the horizon is not straight.

Thanks a lot! First I thought as you did when looking at the photos, but looking from another perspective it comes out that the entire massif is really slightly tilted to the left. It's strange!

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'm not familiar with that mountain range, and they rarely run exactly parallel with the horizon.

In any case... I wish I was there

It's quite strange. The first time I noticed that was looking through the viewfinder. And that after 5 years constantly being to that place and even having been to the top of the middle, biggest peak haha!

Thanks a lot. No it's not a grave. In South Tyrol there are a lot of crosses along the tracks. This one is just like a landmark I think. Before there lived a shepherd with his sheeps, maybe he has put it there.
