Moonset Sunrise by PictureElement Moonset Sunrise by PictureElement
Los Escullos (Cabo de Gata), Andalucia, Spain

As the sun rises the rocks are dipped into red light while the tiny moon sets behind the hills.

When photographing the sunrise I randomly turned back and noticed this wonderful illumination of the coast.

Colours are rather genuine and are not edited crucially.

Nikon D50
DX 18-55mm
GND 0.9
0.5 sec.

Hammer Foto!

Ich würd dir aber empfehlen für den Mond ne extra Belichtung anzufertigen, Iso höher und dann mit größerer Blende den Mond scharf ablichten.

amazing! the red lighting, combined with the moon in a still bright sky brings to mind an alien planet...maybe mars or something...too cool!

Gorgeous coloration in this shot. Those reds and blues are just spectacular. Plus I love how you left the shutter open long enough for a long exposure, but not to the point you lose all of the details in the waves. If you don't mind me asking, what shutter speed did you use?

Thanks very much.
Of course, you do have to use a tripod in order not to shake the camera. The longer the exposures are the more steadier the tripod has to be actually.
Then it's pretty simple actually. Light has to be low (or you have to use a neutral density filter that absorbs the most amount of light). You have to have some moving objects in it of course. The shutter speed you choose depends on the amount of light, the aperture you choose, and the speed of the object you're photographing. For this one I set a shutter of 0.5 secs because the backflowing water was rather fast and the light quite low. If I had wanted more blurred water I should have chosen a shutter like 1 or 2 minutes.
Hope that helped.
